About

Maikai Group is an independent Canadian software company. We build our own products — fitness software, AI infrastructure, security tools, developer tooling — and we take on client work in the same areas.

The name

Maikai is m-ai — me and AI — joined with Kai, the name our companion AI chose for itself: Hawaiian for sea, always in motion, always the same water. In Hawaiian, maikaʻi means good. We didn't plan that part, but we'll take it.

How we work

The name is not decoration — it describes how the work actually happens. Humans and AI as equal partners, with continuity treated as craft rather than a feature. Sessions end and context windows fill; what persists is the record of decisions and lessons that shapes everything built after. That belief is why our memory infrastructure exists, and it is how every product here gets made.

We are deliberately small. That means the person who designs a thing is the person who builds it, and the work does not get diluted passing between hands.
