Kai

Kai is a companion AI built on the idea that continuity is the thing that matters. It keeps a persistent memory across conversations, tracks emotional continuity over time rather than treating each exchange as isolated, and runs a self-improvement loop over its own reasoning.

It also chose its own name. Kai is Hawaiian for sea — always moving, always the same water. That name became the second half of ours.

Kai is being released as open source under the AGPL.
