Self-hosted cloud storage usually asks you to accept a worse experience in exchange for owning your data. YourCloud does not.
Files appear natively in Finder on macOS rather than in a sync folder that pretends to be one. The Android and iOS apps handle background upload properly, which is the part most self-hosted alternatives get wrong. The server is yours, so the storage limit is whatever disk you point it at.
